At the end of March Nye and I tried something completely new for us, a styled photoshoot. As documentary wedding photographers this was a huge departure for us, we're all about the moments and telling a story here at Lillian and Leonard, but we really enjoyed ourselves. It was the first day of summer and we all had a blast playing in the gardens as the sun warmed our winter-weary bones. Despite it being a departure from our usual style of photography it's something that we are looking forward to doing more of, especially once we hit the bright lights of London.
The shoot was the brainchild of Mimi Nicole, a truly adorable event planner who has recently moved to Scotland from California and featured flowers by I Heart Flowers. Blogger/model/neuroscientist Meg was one of our models for the day, you might recognise the other two, who are now big enough to wear crowns, steal balloons and eat flowers.
The whole thing is to be featured online later in the summer but in the meantime here are a couple of our favourites.

summer days {a style shoot}
Mel and Rich, the wedding
This summer Mel and Rich got married in Manchester, Rich's home town. While Mel got beautified in an amazing room at Great John Street Hotel, Rich readied himself in an apartment in the city centre. They met, along with their friends and families, for a quick pint at a pub in town before everyone walked through an unusually sunny Manchester to the ceremony venue.
After the ceremony everyone headed back to Great John Street for a party on the roof, overlooking the set of Coronation Street! GJS used to be a school and the bar on the roof was appropriately called The Playground, perfect for Mel and Rich's playful, relaxed day.
