Zoë and Iain's Loch Tay Wedding

Out of the city and through the glens, past the river and a long the loch side lies a little patch of South Africa. A country hotel decorated with elephants and giraffes and leopards, horns and hides and funny little thatched huts surrounded by fields of rare Scottish sheep. It was in this most exotic enclave of Perthshire that Zoë and Iain got married one early summer afternoon...

Imogen and Mike's East Coast Wedding

On the last weekend of May Imogen and Mike got married in the tiny little village of Coldingham in the Scottish Borders. Preparations were under way when we arrived, girls of all ages were primped and preened while boys both large and small tied ties and straightened kilts. After the ceremony at the ancient Coldingham Priory guests held onto their hats with one hand (some none too successfully) while they clutched warming glasses of whiskey in the other and enjoyed delicious shortbread and brownies in the rather excitable wind outside the church.

Via the beautiful Coldingham Bay we made our way to a marquee in Imogen's parent's garden, where guests sheltered from the breeze and rain and waited ever so patiently for the sun to come out which of course it did, eventually revealing spectacular views along the east coast of Scotland.

Imogen and Mike's wedding was a day of fun and laughter, of wind and rain, of sunshine and blue skies. It was a day filled with children and love and family and friendship and a couple whose love for each other was positively tangible. It was a perfect day, despite the loss of a hat or two to the chilly winds of the east coast!

Wee weddings in Scotland...

Our little trip last week was to Caisealrag Cottage, in Kilberry and it was really lovely. We spent two nights in the cottage, hunkered down while it rained almost constantly. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the worst of the Scottish weather though, in warmth and luxury with a huge bath, cashmere blankets and an impressive collection of art and photography books to curl up with. And it was a perfect way to switch off and prepare ourselves for a truly mammoth (and a little daunting) wedding season.

Caisealrag Cottage is situated in Kilberry, near Tarbet and is owned by Crear (the location of Emma and Micheal's beautiful wedding). It makes an ideal honeymoon cottage, situated as it is on the utterly idyllic and wonderfully remote west coast of Scotland and it would even make the perfect venue for a wee wedding with only a handful of people...

A litte trip...

We are going to be out of the office until Friday for a little trip. We will be without internet access while we're away but will answer your emails as soon as we get back. Assuming we come back that is, where we're off to is really very heavenly and the temptation to stay might prove quite overwhelming!

A little Real Life Wedding...

When Emma and Michael asked us to photograph their wedding last summer we knew it would be a unique and stylish event, we suspected it would be a lot of fun to photograph, we had a hunch that the photos might prove popular, but we had no idea that they would be this popular.

So far they have appeared on a host of the most stylish wedding blogs (more on those later) and this week they featured in the Real Life Weddings section of Best Scottish Weddings magazine which we gave us quite the thrill...

Natasha and Rob's Chichester Wedding....

On what just happened to be the first day of Spring the adorable Natasha and dapper Rob got married at West Stoke House in Chichester, a vision of Jane Austen country style.

Sun shone, fashionable ladies danced, a handsome groom played the saxophone, happy mothers threw confetti and heartfelt words of love and support were spoken. And the tiniest tuxedo ever worn attracted a whole lot of admiration....

Gill and Gerry's Glasgow Wedding...

Just a few days after Christmas, on a clear and frosty day, Gerry and Gill got married at Glasgow's House For an Art Lover. The Charles Rennie Macintosh building suited Gerry and Gill's vintage style perfectly; its dark wood panelled rooms creating a cosy wintry atmosphere, the Art Nouveau interior complimenting the bridal party's timelessly chic outfits and the glow from the original Macintosh glass lamps and glasses of mulled wine encouraging everyone to forget the Scottish winter and embrace the festive warmth that Gerry and Gill created on their wedding day.

From Gill's preparations at south Glasgow's magnificent Sherbrooke Castle Hotel to the evening celebrations with a jazz band in House for An Art Lover's café, with Gill's stunning backless dress, Gerry's super sharp suit and three adorable flowergirls in the most gorgeous child sized flapper dresses it was a truly chic affair. And nothing thrills me quite like seeing a woman rock a pair of red shoes on her wedding day!
